C - passing structure + members by value

You have to define your struct BEFORE you use it in your function prototype.

struct Inventory{
char name[20];
int number;
float price;
float total;
}items;

void function1(struct Inventory inv);

laravel 4 changing url structure with parameter passing
Having a field from the form in your url (not query string) is simply not possible with Laravel. What you can do though, is just use javascript for that. First lets put a placeholder in the action url <?php echo Form::open(array('url' => 'home/find/%location%','method' => 'get')); ?> jQuery $('form').on('submit', function(){ // you maybe need to be a bit more precise with the sele

Is it bad practice to operate on a structure and assign the result to the same structure? Why?
I see nothing wrong with something like that, it appears as innocuous as: i = i + 42; If you're accessing the data items a lot, you could consider something like: tSomething *cdb = cpu->dev.bus; cdb->uevent = cdb->uevent >> 16; // and many more accesses to cdb here but, even then, I'd tend to leave it to the optimiser, which tends to do a better job than most humans anyway :-)

C++ passing argument of "struct" type as reference (&) or passing it by value
Use a constructor. struct Family { Family(const std::string& Name, int Age) : Name(Name), Age(Age) {} std::string Name; int Age; }; // use like: Family me{"AName", 45}; // or Family me("AName", 45); on old compilers

do objects have different function members or share them?
What does it mean by -in some way- ?? does it means that functions members are shared between the objects of the class? Yes. With "In Some Way", the author probably intends to describe that the code is shared, while the data (member variables) is not. Member variables are unique for each object, and the methods get a pointer to the object's data as their first parameter (which is not part of

How to drop factors that have fewer than n members
Since you begin with a data.table, this first part uses data.table syntax.
