Bidimensional array input

I'm not sure why your are using a multi-dimensional array. Here is a solution that will work for you that demonstrates some OO concepts.

import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.DataInputStream;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.FileInputStream;
import java.io.InputStreamReader;
import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.Arrays;
import javax.swing.*;

public class StringArrayOfWords {

  //instance variables
  private ArrayList<String> lines = new
ArrayList<>();
  private static StringArrayOfWords arr = new
StringArrayOfWords();//declare object

    public static void main(String[] args) throws
Exception {
        String [] printArray =
arr.readFile();//use an array to hold contents of
arr.readFile for easy printing

System.out.println(Arrays.toString(printArray));//Arrays.toString
will print the contents of an Array
    }

    //method to read a file and call on object
    public String [] readFile() throws Exception{

        //display a gui window to choose a file to
read in
        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,
"Please choose a question file");
        JFileChooser input = new JFileChooser();
        int a = input.showOpenDialog(null);
        String file = "";
        if (a == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) {
            File selectedFile =
input.getSelectedFile();
            file = selectedFile.getPath();
        }

        //use file input to read in line one at a
time
        FileInputStream fstream = new
FileInputStream(file);
        DataInputStream in = new
DataInputStream(fstream);
        BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new
InputStreamReader(in));
        String line;
        while ((line = br.readLine()) != null) {
            lines.add(line);
        }
        //convert ArrayList to array
        String[] arr = lines.toArray(new
String[lines.size()]);

        return arr;
    }
}

Javascript to access an Array in an Array with an input variable
Your expression is trying to access the findState property on the state object, and it has no property named findState. Instead, use bracket notation: console.log(state[findState][0]); Also, don't forget to do proper null/undefined checks to account for the possibility that the value could not be found (e.g. if the user re-selects the first option in the dropdown).

How to insert input into an array from a text box in C#
You have done some silly mistakes here: In setter of Texts property you should say texts = value; instead of guestNames = value; You don't need to create a new instance of your form1 as all the code you written above is already inside the form1 class. If not then try to get the same instance of form1. Not necessary but you should set your property not the field. Replace texts[counter] = ...

Modify array with user input?
Wouldn't the same logic work if you remove the nested if else? So you can use it as ADD/MODIFY button. If it is a new compartment number it will get added. Otherwise if it is old, then it will get updated. For removing the compartment, you can only accept the compartment number. If it exists, remove the entry from all the arrays. if ((newcompartment > 0) && (newcompartment < produc

Reading from an Input File to an Integer Array
When you call Scanner.nextInt() it only consume the int, and it leaves any trailing whitespace or newline there. Instead you might use something like, Scanner inputFile = new Scanner(hotlist); while (inputFile.hasNext()) { customerName[i] = inputFile.nextLine(); System.out.println(customerName[i]); String custId = inputFile.nextLine(); customerID[i] = Integer.parseInt(custId);

How can I store a phone number input into a int array? C
char *nme; int* nmbr; nme and nmbr are pointers and you should assign some memory before writing something to it. Read phone number also as a string.
