How to display individual digits of integer input?

One option would be to use the String#valueOf(Integer) method.

Example

int input = 12345;

String inputStr = String.valueOf(input);

for(char c : inputStr.toCharArray()) {
    // Print out each letter.
}

Sum of squares of digits of an integer in Java
In Java, ^ is not "to the power" of, it is the bitwise XOR operator. To perform powers in Java use Math.pow. Bear in mind that Math.pow returns a double so you will need to cast it to an int if you only want a whole number. E.g. if (n < 10) return (int)Math.pow(n, 2); Of course, as msandiford pointed out, if you only need to calculate powers of 2, it is probably easier to just multiply a num

How to manipulate individual input field values without a lot of code
Just loop through them, something like this. var inputs = $('.value_gpm'); for(i=0;i < inputs.length; i++){ var input = inputs[i]; input.val( convert(input.val(), "m3h", "gpm") ); }

Reading from an Input File to an Integer Array
When you call Scanner.nextInt() it only consume the int, and it leaves any trailing whitespace or newline there. Instead you might use something like, Scanner inputFile = new Scanner(hotlist); while (inputFile.hasNext()) { customerName[i] = inputFile.nextLine(); System.out.println(customerName[i]); String custId = inputFile.nextLine(); customerID[i] = Integer.parseInt(custId);

How do I get my program to separate not count the space between input as an integer?
Pass the two numbers in a single string. Find the space position and split the input in two parts, like in the example. NOTE: if you use c++11, the conversion to int can be made directly with std::stoi(str) string input; cin >> input; int spacePos, num1, num2; spacePos = input.find(" "); num1 = atoi(input.substr(0, spacePos - 1).c_str()); num2 = atoi(input.substr(spacePos + 1).c_
